The Wonga Park Cricket Club is devastated to share the passing of Scott Parker.
Scotty was a tremendous man, with a genuine love and care for everyone around him, constantly putting others before himself. He proudly played in 2 senior premierships, in the memorable 2017/18 father-son premiership alongside his son Tyler, and again in the tied 2019/20 7th XI premiership.
Scott’s passion and love for our club has been evident to everyone that has been involved in the club for the last 10 years. From being team manager of his son Tyler’s junior cricket team, 3 seasons as secretary (including this season), 2 as Vice President, being the main organiser of merch, the bar, and frogbox and leading the funding of our new scoreboard and many other projects, Scott has left a lasting legacy on this club and has truly left the club in a better place than when he joined.
Scott passed away following a brave battle with cancer surrounded by his family on Wednesday 5 August.
Our thoughts are with his wife Megan and kids Tyler, Abbey and Emily during this extremely difficult time.
A memorial will be hosted on Friday 14th August at Vue on Halcyon from 12pm. The family request attendees wear colour.
