The Wonga Park Cricket Club celebrated its Centenary in 2010/11. This was a time of reflection as we acknowledged the rich history of the Club,and which will also inspire us to look forward as the Club continues to evolve.
In the Centenary season (2010/11) the club held a number of major events.
- The highlight being the “Centenary Ball”, a formal night where past and current players, with family and friends, gathered together to relive great moments of our 100 years. During the night the first inductees into the WPCC “Hall of Fame” were be announced, and the “WPCC Centenary Book” was released.
In addition to these events a range of Centenary merchandise for both on field and off field was produced.
A great deal of work was undertaken to ensure these events were a great success including:
- Collection of historical cricket records and entering the information into a database to ultimately provide any individual or Club statistic you require
- Collection of information and photographs etc for the “Centenary Book”
- Compiling contact details of past players
