Members of the Wonga Park C.C welcome to the 2009/10 season from the social
committee, Dallas Roberts, Greg Hassan and Brett Laird.
Last season was a terrific year off field for the club, with many new faces
jumping on with social memberships. Hopefully this season sees a growing trend
in all facets of the club supporting the club socially where possible. Our goal
is to make the club a friendly and fun place to enjoy a few drinks and some
laughs with team mates and their families. If there is anything you think we can
do to make things better, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
This season we are seeing the return of the $2000 reverse raffle, a great event
in recent years. We hope that the event can reach the great heights of a few
years back and sell all 200 tickets which in turn make for a really enjoyable
time and also raise vital funds for the club. Stay Tuned for details, tickets
will feature in this years social memberships. We also hope to organise a trivia
night in late November and the Xmas Party will again feature after the last
match (Saturday night) for 2009. There is also going to be various Ladies Social
days/evenings organised this season, so keep a look out for flyers regarding all
social activities for 2009/10…….
On a week to week basis, we would also like to point out that the club would
like as many people to attend after match celebrations to enhance the social
benefits of the club. It is a great chance to catch up on other teams’ results,
individual achievements, and to obviously enjoy the company of our fellow
members. Dinner is always available and the club is striving to consistently
have speeches, raffles, and announcements regarding upcoming events to better
our communication with all facets of WPCC.
Of course these events are designed to incorporate all members of the club,
seniors, juniors, vets and all families associated with these sides. Also the
club wishes to extend the invite to these events and every after match to
friends of players and their families, the more the merrier.
Stay tuned for more details and if there are any queries or suggestions please
contact the social committee.
