WPCC - Centenary
The Wonga Park Cricket Club is
celebrating its Centenary in 2010/11.
This will be a time of reflection
as we acknowledge the rich history of the Club,
and will also inspire us to look
forward as the Club continues to evolve.
In the Centenary season (2010/11)
we plan to have two major events.
-
“Back to
Wonga Park” where the focus
will be a social game of cricket played between past and current players.
-
The “Centenary Ball”, a formal
night where past and current players, with family and friends, get together to
relive great moments of our 100 years.
During the night the first inductees into the WPCC “Hall of Fame” will be
announced, and the “WPCC Centenary Book” will be released.
In addition to these events we will
also provide a range of Centenary merchandise for both on field and off field.
A great deal of work is currently
being undertaken to ensure these events are a great success including:
-
Collection of historical cricket
records and entering the information into a database to ultimately provide any
individual or Club statistic you require
-
Collection of information and
photographs etc for the “Centenary Book”
-
Compiling contact details of past
players
So there is lots of things
happening so watch this space for further updates.
It’s exciting times for the Club so
‘get on board!’
